Cariati harbour is protected by an inner elbow jetty and an outer jetty. A boat ramp is located at the landward end of the inner jetty. The bank is paved. An extra 120m-long reef was added to the outer jetty. On each side, two 50m-long sand protection barriers were built. The port of Cariati is usually frequented by local fishing boats.
Caution: a submerged riprap structure at 39°30',05 N 016°56', 71E is unlit. Pay careful attention to the riprap structure when approaching to the port, particularly with north-east and east winds.
